TxDOT Vision Zero Recap

Thank You

Thank you to all who attended BAYTRAN's TxDOT Vision Zero luncheon last month, the turn out was amazing. You can see Commissioner Ryan's passion for Vision Zero, we all should have that same passion as it is our friends and family members who we share the roads with.

BAYTRAN's Board of Directors and members would like to thank Commissioner Laura Ryan and Houston District Engineer Eliza Paul for their time.

ADVOCACY EFFORTS

BAYTRAN attends TxDOT Commission Meeting

BAYTRAN Board Members Mayor Paul Horn and Mayor Pat Hallisey have begun leading BAYTRAN's efforts to advocate for the completion of Grand Parkway Segments A, B and C. A total of twelve individuals from our region appeared and spoke to the commission regarding the importance of this project for safety, evacuation, freight mobility, population growth, and economic development. We are happy to report that the UTP passed unanamously.

Thank you to all who attended, this is just the beginning of the advocacy we plan to continue for this and all projects in BAYTRAN's service area. Please consider supporting our efforts through membership.

I-10 Bridge Included in TxDOT's UTP

State Representative Briscoe Cain and the Economic Alliance’s Statement on I-10 Bridge Included in Texas Department of Transportation's Unified Transportation Program

"Since being elected to the Texas Legislature, I have long advocated for a new I-10 Bridge over the San Jacinto River. Yesterday, the Texas Department of Transportation has included a new I-10 Bridge in the Unified Transportation Program. A new bridge will not only bring an end to our constant concerns with barge strikes, it will bring much needed traffic relief to the region. I look forward to working to ensure the project is adequately funded and completed on time." State Representative Briscoe Cain

“This project alleviates a critical chokepoint in the Houston Port Region and provides a safer route for commuters and the workforce supporting the manufacturing economy here. I-10 is a major freight and commuter corridor that simply cannot be closed due to barge strikes. I want to thank TXDOT and specifically District Director Eliza Paul for recognizing the importance of this project and expediting its funding and eventual completion.” Chad Burke, Economic Alliance Houston Port Region
