BayTran redefines vision with new mission, values and logo

The Bay Area Houston Transportation Partnership, or BayTran, is launching a new era with its new vision and mission statement and core values.

The mission statement and core values were decided after lengthy discussion between its board of directors and Executive Director Amy Skicki about BayTran’s identity and goals.

“As Executive Director, it was important to me that our mission and vision statements be clear and concise,” Skicki said. “The mission statement is focused on what the company does for our partners and keeps me focused on our goals for the future.”

Mission: Advocating for regional transportation solutions.

Vision: Enhancing regional mobility.

Core Values: Resilience, Awareness, Influence, Safety, and Education (or R.A.I.S.E.)

“The exercise we went through to determine our core values really brought us together as a team,” Skicki said. “It was a two-step process as the first time we went through it, we listed multiple values each of us believed our organization should embody, then we noticed the acronym RAISE. We then narrowed it down to two words for each letter. Finally, in our second workshop we decided we should only have one word for each letter, so we went letter by letter and unanimously came to our final core values. I believe each of these words embody core values needed when advocating for transportation solutions.”

BayTran will also have a new logo to further capture its newly defined era of transforming transportation in its region.

“With the updated mission, vision and core values it is appropriate to refresh our logo, so people see that BayTran is revitalized and focused on providing advocacy for transportation solutions within the Southeast Houston Region.” Skicki said.
